Strasbourg manager Liam Rosenior has been discussing Chelsea-bound Mamadou Sarr.
Mamadou Sarr is set to link up with Strasbourg’s sister club Chelsea at the end of the season, giving Enzo Maresca another centre-back option if he thinks the youngster is ready.
Earlier this month, it was reported that Chelsea had agreed a £17m fee with Strasbourg for Sarr’s signature.
While Chelsea have sent players to Strasbourg, this would be the first time that they have bought someone from their sister club.

Liam Rosenior thinks Mamadou Sarr has everything
It is fair to say that Rosenior is a fan of Sarr. The Strasbourg boss has backed the 19-year-old to become a “world-class centre-half” because of his attributes.
In an interview with The Athletic, the 40-year-old said: “His temperament, his athleticism, his ability on the ball… he’s got everything you need to be a world-class centre-half.”
Maresca could probably do with Sarr right now after the injuries to Wesley Fofana and Benoit Badiashile, while the Chelsea head coach could also be about to lose Axel Disasi.
Disasi is hoping to join Aston Villa before the transfer window closes next Monday.

Why Mamadou Sarr is a modern-day defender
It remains to be seen whether Sarr can actually go on to become a world-class centre-back. However, the Frenchman already has the traits of a modern-day defender.
For example, Sarr is very good in possession. As per FBref, over the past year, he has averaged a pass completion rate of 93.3% per 90 minutes, which is extremely high.
Sarr has also proven that he is not a defender who is scared to be on the ball with his number of successful take-ons per 90 minutes. With an average of 0.72, he ranks in the 99th percentile among his positional peers.
Still developing, Chelsea may have found a real bargain here with Sarr. Next season in the Premier League may come too early for the France U20 international, but he could have a bright future at Stamford Bridge.
If so, then supporters could see more signings from Strasbourg in the future. The relationship that Chelsea have with the Ligue 1 outfit is here to stay.
