AC Milan confirmed the loan signing of Joao Felix from Chelsea on Tuesday, bringing the forward in until the end of the season.
Chelsea have moved Joao Felix on swiftly, at least temporarily, having only bought him last summer.
Ultimately, it is a transfer that has not worked out, but it has been claimed that the Blues actually had a plan and use for the 25-year-old when they signed him from Atletico Madrid.
Felix’s move to Milan has seen Chelsea pocket more than £5m, which is a lot of money for a six-month loan deal.

Chelsea signed Joao Felix to help them against low blocks
For many, the sole reason why Chelsea decided to sign Felix was so that Atletico would have the funds to buy Conor Gallagher.
By selling Gallagher to the Spanish club, the Blues were able to make pure profit, which helped them to stay in line with PSR.
However, according to The Athletic, Felix was identified as a target because Chelsea believed that he could be a “potent weapon” against low blocks.
After making just three starts in the Premier League, though, Chelsea fans did not get to see the Portuguese in action too often. Felix thought he would get more minutes at some point, but that never happened.

Enzo Maresca not convinced about Chelsea’s ability to take on low blocks
It has become every top managers worst nightmare, having to face a team who just sit deep and defend.
For Enzo Maresca, it was always something the Chelsea boss seemed concerned about.
After the Blues signed Jadon Sancho and drew 1-1 with Crystal Palace at home, he made it clear that he needed someone like the winger to break down low blocks.
When Maresca spoke about Sancho after the London derby, he said: “Jadon is a player, he is here because we like that kind of player — especially against a low block like today.”
It appears that Felix was signed for the same reason. But with the Portugal international now at Milan, that is one weapon Maresca will no longer have available.
