Despite struggling with more injuries this season, Chelsea captain Reece James has not avoided criticism amongst the Blues’ poor run of form.
John Obi Mikel has criticised James’ leadership at Stamford Bridge, with the 25-year-old elected the leader of what is already a young Blues squad.
Instead, the England international looks as if he is someone who would rather lead by example, although his fitness woes have impacted his ability to do that.
A regular run of games has come James’ way in recent weeks though, and his latest appearance came in a new position against Aston Villa.

Reece James organises Chelsea bonding meal to boost morale
James impressed in midfield at Villa Park, and his performance was one of the positive signs despite the defeat.
The Blues really need to address their run of form though. Two wins in 10 games has seen them drop out of the Champions League places for next season.
James has taken it upon himself to take action to try and boost the morale of the side. According to BBC Sport, the skipper organised a team bonding meal before the Villa game, as the Blues look to save their season.
The Manchester United players were seen doing something similar last week, with their situation far worse than what is currently happening at Stamford Bridge.
Frustration has been clear to see amongst the first team players in recent weeks. Cole Palmer was furious with Christopher Nkunku during the defeat to Villa.

With the questioning of James’ leadership not being limited to club legend Mikel, manager Enzo Maresca has previously echoed those concerns in the early stages of the season.
Maresca named Colwill as Chelsea’s ‘leader’ back in October, however has seen improvement in the right-back as the campaign has gone on.
The manager said James was improving in January, saying: “In general Reece is one of the most important players for us because he is the captain.
“We know since we started with him that having him always fit, fit, fit is better. But we try to adapt. Now he’s back and we’re happy. And he’s improving in that [leadership] aspect.”
Chelsea fans would love their side to address the experience concerns in the summer transfer window, however the armband is unlikely to be taken off James at any point soon, so him developing into a real leader is key for their future.
