The Chelsea target and Bournemouth star, Dean Huijsen, is heavily linked with a high-profile move this summer.

Dean Huijsen, 20, is receiving a lot of coverage in the transfer rumour mill after a very impressive individual season in Bournemouth colours, taking the Premier League by storm during his first year in English football.

The Blues are one of the sides mentioned alongside Huijsen. So, could the Spain international be lining up at Stamford Bridge next season?

Previous reports claimed that Chelsea have made a proposal for Dean Huijsen as they look to beat the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool to his signature.

However, it’s since been explained that Real Madrid are confident of beating Chelsea to Dean Huijsen, who’s got a £50m release clause in his contract at Bournemouth.

Chelsea would pay Dean Huijsen more than Real Madrid

Chelsea are looking to trump Madrid in the race for Huijsen this summer by offering him a bigger salary.

According to AS, Huijsen wants to play for Spanish giants Madrid and the La Liga club are trying to negotiate a transfer fee cheaper than his £50m release clause.

The report says that the Bournemouth centre-half will need to accept a lower salary with Madrid than what’s already on offer at rival suitors, including Chelsea.

Chelsea have checked out several Bournemouth stars, and they have got a talented bunch of players as they fight for European qualification this season. In terms of Cherries talents with the most potential, Huijsen must sit at the top of the pile.

Even though the 20-year-old is still in the infancy of his career, he defends with such great maturity and authority on the football pitch. The 6ft 5in star ticks every box as a modern-day ball-playing centre-back.

While we’d love to see Chelsea complete this transfer, it does feel like it’s got Madrid written all over it.

Chelsea must fix issue flagged by Todd Boehly

It feels like a similar discussion is happening with Chelsea fans right now going into another transfer window. Ultimately, supporters are desperate for the club to add more experience and leadership to the group.

The addition of Spanish wonderkid Huijsen would be an incredible coup for the Blues, but it wouldn’t fill the void of experienced campaigners in the squad.

Blues co-owner Todd Boehly wants youth and experience in Chelsea’s dressing room, so will the club finally go out and fix the glaring problem?

In the centre-half position, Chelsea are crying out for a profile with real know-how.
