It looks like Coventry City manager Frank Lampard will have to wait before he finds out whether he can loan any players from Chelsea.
There is not too long to go in the January transfer window, with it closing next week. But in a potential blow to Frank Lampard, Chelsea do not appear to be too keen on sanctioning any deals at this very moment in time.
Despite so much speculation, it has been a pretty quiet month for the Blues so far. Things could change this week, though.
While a move looked dead at one point, it has been suggested that Bayern Munich’s Mathys Tel could still join Chelsea in January.

Chelsea want to use players in swap deals
Chelsea have not been afraid to try a swap deal since being taken over by Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali.
It is something that supporters could see the club attempt before the transfer market closes.
Journalist Simon Phillips has shared on his Substack Si Phillips Talks Chelsea that the Blues are not currently willing to loan anyone out to Coventry in case they need them for a swap deal.
According to Phillips’ source, Lampard has a shortlist of three Chelsea players and has asked his former club can he take one of them for the rest of the season, only to be informed of the above.

Tyrique George to Coventry City should not be ruled out
For now, it does not look like anyone will be moving from Chelsea to Coventry. However, things could quickly change.
Tyrique George is now part of the Chelsea first team, but Phillips has also claimed that George could depart Chelsea temporarily if the Blues sign a new left winger.
That happening is not impossible amid links with Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho. If Chelsea do go on to sign the Argentina international, then that could pave the way for George to join Coventry.
