Talk has emerged about AC Milan forward Rafael Leao potentially joining Chelsea this summer.
This is not the first time that Rafael Leao has been linked with a move to Chelsea, with the 25-year-old having been a target at the beginning of the Todd Boehly era.
In the end, though, the Blues were never able to get a deal for Leao over the line.
It is set to be a summer where Chelsea try to improve their attack. Another forward, Ipswich Town’s Liam Delap, continues to be linked to Chelsea.

Chelsea never wanted to pay Rafael Leao’s release clause
Chelsea wanted to sign Leao from Milan in 2022, the year the club were taken over by Boehly and Behdad Eghbali‘s Clearlake Capital.
However, there were a couple of barriers that ultimately prevented the Portuguese from moving to Stamford Bridge.
According to an article from The Athletic in 2022, Chelsea did not want to pay Leao’s €150m (£125m) release clause, while the Blues’ interest came very late in the transfer window, leaving their Italian counterparts in no mood to negotiate.
Leao is a name still worth considering for Chelsea today, especially with the club having looked at left wingers last month.

Rafael Leao and Joao Felix swap deal mooted
While Chelsea were unable to sign Leao, the Blues and Milan have still done a lot of business with each other.
Their latest dealings have seen Joao Felix join the Italian giants on loan in a move that could help Chelsea to finally land Leao.
It has been claimed that Milan could actually offer Leao to Chelsea in a potential swap deal for Felix.
Some Chelsea fans were sad to see Felix go and will be hoping for him to come back. But with the club thinking about signing a new left winger, snapping up Leao makes too much sense if the opportunity presents itself.
Swap deals do not happen too often, but if this one takes place then Boehly and co should be really happy.
