Chelsea’s top goalkeeper from last season has been nowhere to be seen at Stamford Bridge during the current campaign.
Djordje Petrovic has instead been playing for fellow BlueCo club Strasbourg, where he has enjoyed a positive campaign between the sticks.
It was claimed before the season began that Chelsea had doubts over whether Petrovic would suit Enzo Maresca’s style.

Djordje Petrovic’s improved passing could see him become Chelsea goalkeeper again
The manager is keen for his side to start attacks all the way from the goalkeeper, and last season the Serbian was taking no chances when he had the ball at his feet.
It looks as if he has been given more chances to play out the back starting in goal under Liam Rosenior in Ligue 1, with Strasbourg having a very promising season so far.
Petrovic has been crucial to their performances this season, and will no doubt be firmly in the mind of the Blues when looking ahead to next season.
One of the biggest indicators that the goalkeeper could be a regular at Stamford Bridge next season is how his passing does seem to have drastically improved.
According to Chelsea Stats, Petrovic has the most accurate passes per game of any goalkeeper in Ligue 1 this season.
Chelsea fans not convinced by current goalkeepers
Petrovic’s absence has led to a battle between Robert Sanchez and Filip Jorgensen to start in goal at Chelsea this season.
It has been the Spaniard who has kept the faith of the manager throughout the majority of the season, however this has not been to the universal approval of supporters this season.
Chelsea fans are losing patience with Sanchez between the sticks, and have frequently called for the club to invest in a new goalkeeper in the transfer window.
However, they may have a viable option already on their books, and Petrovic could be set to make his mark as soon as next season.
