This week, the World Football Summit (WFS) kicks off in Rabat, Morocco — bringing together football’s most influential voices to tackle the growing gap between African teams and the global football ecosystem.

Among them is Nigeria’s Debbie Larry-Izamoje, who will drive a high-level conversation on the challenges and shared learnings between European and African football clubs.

The CEO of Brila Media and convener of Football Girls Africa (FGA), Debbie, is one of the few Nigerians invited to speak at the summit.

She will lead a panel session titled “Challenges for Football Clubs: Similarities Between European and African Clubs, and What They Can Learn from Each Other.”

Joining her in the session are:

    • Pitso Mosimane, Founder, Pitso Mosimane Youth Football
    • Bernat Villa Gorriz, Technical Head Europe & Africa, BARÇA Academy (FC Barcelona)
    • Mohammed Hamdi, International Director of Sport, Feyenoord
    • Jose Collado Ripoll, Head of International Sports Projects, Sevilla FC

Meanwhile, the summit will also host other top dignitaries including Fouzi Lekjaa, President of the Moroccan Football Federation, among others.

Debbie’s participation reinforces her growing influence in the global football space and her dedication to youth empowerment through sport.

Through Football Girls Africa, she has led outreach programs and workshops that expose young girls in underserved communities to opportunities across the football value chain — from coaching and sports medicine to media, law, and entrepreneurship.

On Wednesday, April 9-10, the 2025 World Football Summit will be held at the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University in Rabat.

WFS is dedicated to creating a more professional, innovative, and inclusive football industry by connecting the right people to the right conversations at the right time.
