Former NFL linebacker Adarius Taylor has been arrested in Florida on charges related to child abuse and solicitation, according to jail records obtained by TMZ Sports.
The 34-year-old was booked on two separate charges: one count of negligent child abuse without bodily harm and one count of soliciting another for pr0stitution, lewdness, or assignation.
Taylor was released on Sunday, May 11, after posting a $6,000 bond. Authorities have not yet provided further details regarding the circumstances of the arrest, and efforts to obtain more information from officials are ongoing.
Taylor, who played college football at Florida Atlantic University, entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2014. Over a seven-year professional career, he played for the Carolina Panthers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Cleveland Browns. He recorded 140 tackles, including five for a loss, two sacks, three forced fumbles, and one interception. His final NFL appearance came during Week 17 of the 2020 season as a member of the Panthers.
In addition to his time in the NFL, Taylor also had a stint in the Canadian Football League. He was born Adarius Glanton but later changed his name to Adarius Taylor in honor of his father.
