American rapper DDG has filed an emergency motion to prevent actress and singer Halle Bailey from traveling abroad with their one-year-old son, Halo, amid a custody dispute that has gained public attention.
According to TMZ, the rapper submitted the motion on Wednesday, June 4, claiming Halle’s proposed trip to Italy with their son on June 7 poses a serious concern. He reportedly fears she might not return and that leaving the U.S. could pose an “imminent emotional and psychological risk” to the child.
In the motion, DDG cited several alleged incidents to back up his concerns. He claimed Halle once took his firearm and left the house without explanation while she was pregnant. He said he later found her outside with the weapon, though it was never used. He also alleged that she once considered an abortion without informing him.
Further, the rapper claimed Halle had previously sent “a series of alarming text messages threatening to kill herself and suggesting that their infant son, Halo, might also be harmed.”
Meanwhile, Halle has also made serious allegations of her own. The Little Mermaid star was granted a temporary restraining order against DDG in May, claiming he physically assaulted her. In one alleged incident detailed in her court filings, she said DDG slammed her face into a steering wheel while attempting to pick up their son, which resulted in a chipped tooth. She included photos as evidence.
In response to DDG’s travel concerns, Halle clarified in her own filings that the Italy trip is work-related. “I have family and a nanny who will be traveling with me to care for Halo while I am working,” she stated, according to court documents obtained by TMZ.
The court is expected to rule on the emergency motion soon.
