Former Manchester United defender, Rio Ferdinand, believes Victor Osimhen may be holding out for a move to Manchester United this summer.

Ferdinand made the remark after the Super Eagles striker reportedly turned down a lucrative offer from Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal, leaving his future open to a possible move to the Premier League or remaining at Galatasaray.

Speaking on the Rio Ferdinand Presents podcast, the former England international expressed his desire for United to prioritise signing Osimhen.

“They already know who I want. The people already know who I want — Osimhen,” Ferdinand said. “It looks like he’s turned down Al Hilal. He must be waiting for Manchester United.

“I don’t know if United will go for him, but if they don’t get him, then Gyökeres — I’ll take him.”

Osimhen, who enjoyed a prolific season with Galatasaray, remains one of the most sought-after forwards in Europe during this summer transfer window.
