Shocking footage has captured the moment after a speeding Mercedes crashed into Long Island house – with the homeowner inside – in an accident neighbors said sounded like an ‘explosion.’

An elderly woman behind the wheel of a Mercedes-Benz sent her luxury vehicle smashing through the walls of a family home at around 4:30pm in Nassau County on Saturday.

Eyewitness accounts described to ABC7 the terrifying moment the 82-year-old driver lost control of her vehicle.

The car careened off Bethpage Road and into a residential property on West Street, as reported by the outlet.

‘The car hit the curb, went in the air, bounced two or three times over…half a football field, and entered the house and disappeared. It was surreal,’ one stunned witness, Wayne Burke told the outlet.

The 56-year-old homeowner was relaxing on her living room sofa when the Mercedes came crashing through her walls without warning.

She was left surrounded by debris and trapped inside her own home.

‘She was sitting in the living room on the couch, yeah she got some debris on her — she was luckily not stuck, so she was able to walk around, but she was trapped, because none of the doors could open,’ another eyewitness Corrine McPartland said.

Shocking video footage shows emergency services extracting the car from inside the home.

Neighbors rescued the woman through a window of her devastated home.

‘She was in shock, she just kept saying ‘my house, my house, there’s a car in my house!’ But we kept reassuring that yes, you are safe and everybody is okay,’ McPartland said.

Neighbors then began to detected the smell of gas leaking from the damaged property.

‘Everybody was frantic cause we could all smell gas, and we were trying to find a way to get into the house,’ he said.

The elderly driver of the Mercedes was initially buried beneath piles of rubble from the impact but eventually was taken to the hospital.
