TikTok debates who wins in a brawl – 100 Americans or 100 Brits

Netizens have moved on from the great thought experiment of whether 100 men could overcome a gorilla in a fight, and are now asking whether 100 Brits would prevail over 100 Americans in a bare-knuckle brawl.

‘Everyone’s talking about 100 men versus one gorilla,’ TikTok creator @2mwad_ told his 80,000 followers this week. ‘F*** that. I got a new one.’

‘100 British people versus 100 Americans. One big room. No weapons. Who’s winning?’

The first video had been seen more than one million times, prompting light hearted debate between Brits and Americans joined in thought.

‘I’m British we don’t stand a chance sorry,’ wrote Ethan Noah in a popular comment.

‘Thank you for the self-awareness,’ replied another user below.

Others were more humble in their responses; Tasha Tash joined in the forum, writing: ‘I’m American and we can’t fight…All we know is guns.’

Kristal Vee posted eye-rolling emojis and jibed: ‘Can the beans on toast brigade leave us alone? … We never think of them until they bother us.’

The post quickly went viral and spawned a follow-up, seen 1.5 million times.

He later defined the terms of the newest thought experiment to sweep TikTok

The British content creator clarified his terms, adding that the 100 should be made up of 20 people from Birmingham, London, Manchester, Nottingham and Liverpool in the UK.

From the U.S. he suggested 20 people each from Louisiana, Los Angeles, New York, Chicago and Texas.

The comments section again erupted with a flurry of responses.

Thousands backed the UK to win, with one user joking: ‘bro all you need is the 20 Scousers.’

A user backing the American cause hit back that ‘Texas and Louisiana is all you need!’

Teddy Karting provoked strong reaction by suggesting that ‘you just need 1 British person’.

User Spicy Fireball shot back: ‘So we forgot 1775?’

Jason Willis echoed the sentiment: ‘You bringing tea? Seems like this has played out before.’

Another user said: ‘This fight already happened. Its celebrated every July 4th’

‘Nothing brings US Citizens [sic] together like a red coat making a challenge,’ another said.

TikTok users have playfully challenged each other with a series of thought experiments in recent days.

More than 288million people – including X-owner Elon Musk – joined the debate of whether 100 men could beat a gorilla in a fight.

Asked whether he would win a boxing match with a silverback mountain gorilla, heavyweight boxing champion Oleksandr Usyk was certain.

    ‘Yeah, yeah,’ he told TalkSPORT.

Mike Tyson shared his confidence. He said a silverback would get ‘f***ed up’ if it had to fight 100 versions of him, also a former heavyweight champion.

‘Because you have to think, no serious.

‘100 of us right, 20 at a time rushing him, biting him, get that motherf**ker, he’s not gonna do well.

Humans have historically been able to track and kill much larger prey using their cunning and ability to work together in large numbers.

Using brain over brawn, scientists believe even predators could have been snared by positioning spears in the ground and luring mastodons, bison or saber-toothed cats to impale themselves on the sharp spikes.

It was a better tactic that launching spears with not enough force to piece the rough skin of many prehistoric predators.

Even towering mammoths are believed to have been susceptible to the strategy.
