A mother and her young son have been rushed to hospital after they were struck by a car on a roadside.
Emergency services were called to Wollongong Road at Arncliffe, New South Wales about 8.45am on Monday after receiving a report a vehicle collided with pedestrians.
Both the mother, 35, and her young son were treated by paramedics at the scene.
The woman sustained possible injuries to her legs and hips and was taken to St George hospital in a stable but serious condition.
Paramedics believed the young boy sustained injuries to his legs, abdomen, and pelvic region.
Ambulance crews took him to Sydney Children’s Hospital in Randwick.
The driver allegedly involved in the incident remained on scene and has been assisting police.
‘Police are speaking to the driver, a woman, aged 43,’ a NSW Police spokeswoman said.
Police have commenced an investigation into the cause of the crash.
