Train man threatens women: ‘I’ll kill you. I’ll kill your boyfriend’

A ‘vile’ passenger told two young women he would ‘kill’ them and their boyfriends in a shocking fit of rage on the train.

Footage filmed by the victims shows a man called ‘Elijah’ shout the threats repeatedly while his friends urge him to stop as they travel between Cardiff Central and Swindon.

He exclaims: ‘I’ll kill you. I’ll kill your boyfriend. I’ll follow you. I’ll follow you to your house. I’ll follow you to your boyfriend’s house, I’ll kill your boyfriend. Whatever bro.’

Eye witnesses said the passenger had demanded a group of women tell him who was the most attractive out of him and his friends.

The crazed commuter later adds: ‘If those two girls want to move, you can go. I’m not going to f***ing stop you from going.’

At one point the female passengers explain they ‘shouldn’t be the ones to move’ to which the uncouth man puts his hand to his mouth and gasps in exaggeration.

‘Elijah’ allegedly threw dried chewing gum at a third woman during the journey and ‘made one cry’.

People have since taken to social media to express their disgust, branding the passenger ‘cowardly’ and ‘immature’.

It comes as almost 80,000 offences were recorded by the British Transport Police (BTP) in 2023/24.

Violent crimes and sex offences have both soared to all-time highs, doubling in the last ten years and overall, levels are 55 per cent up on a decade earlier.

The number of violent crimes increased by 50 per cent from 7,561 in 2021 to 11,357 in 2023.

Sexual assaults rose by 10 per cent in the same period from 2,235 to 2,475, while sexual harassment cases doubled to 1,908.

Speaking on the recent video footage of the ‘vile’ train passenger, one person said ‘absolutely appalling behaviour’ while another added ‘he’s clearly emotionally mature hopefully his mother sees this and puts him right’.

A third said: ‘At least his friends were trying to stop him. Very immature young man.’

BTP is investigating the confrontation believed to have taken place on the evening of May 18.

A force spokesman said: ‘We’re aware of a video circulating on social media showing a woman being repeatedly threatened by a man on a train.

‘There is absolutely no place for violent or intimidating behaviour on the railway network, and we encourage the victim or anyone who witnessed the incident to contact British Transport Police by texting 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 271 of May 18.

‘You can also contact the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.’

The encounter comes after MailOnline named Britain’s most dangerous train stations earlier this year – as instances of crime on the transport network hit record highs.

A tiny station situated deep in the Welsh countryside was found to top the table, with violent crimes being notably prevalent.

In London, more than 4,100 crimes were recorded in 2024 at King’s Cross St Pancras, one of the capital’s busiest terminals. This was more than any other station on Transport for London’s (TfL) entire network.

Since Sadiq Khan became Mayor in 2016, Tube crime rates have more than doubled, from nine per every million journeys to more than 21 last March.

Similarly, offences have risen on the Overground, DLR and Elizabeth line, which opened in 2022.

Last January, one woman was even whipped in the face with a belt in an attack at Green Park station.

Across all Underground, Overground, DLR and Elizabeth line stations (excluding stations outside the London fare zones), 38,000 crimes were reported to the BTP in 2024, according to their data.

This is the equivalent of 104 per day.
