Massimiliano Allegri and AC Milan have a bit of a problem with first-choice goalkeeper Mike Maignan right now following his failed transfer to Chelsea.
The 29-year-old was determined to join Enzo Maresca‘s side in the last transfer window. In fact, it was claimed that Maignan even made a threat, warning Milan that he would run down his contract if they prevented him from moving to west London.
In the end, they did just that after rejecting Chelsea‘s offers to sign the Frenchman. It is thought that Chelsea’s last bid for Maignan was worth £18m.
Milan now have a player who does not want to be at the club, giving Allegri some convincing to do.

Chelsea could go back in for Maignan, with the transfer window set to reopen on Monday. However, the Conference League winners may need to get a move on.
According to journalist Daniele Longo, Allegri plans to talk to Maignan soon and is hoping to convince him to sign a new contract.
The former Lille man’s current deal expires next summer, hence why Chelsea felt that there was an opportunity to snap him up.
But after failing to meet Milan’s valuation of the player, they could not get a deal done during the first transfer window of the summer.
As well as Maignan, Chelsea have also reportedly considered Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

Chelsea may have missed out on Maignan, but they could have a new man between the sticks next season depending on what happens at the Club World Cup.
Despite still being just 19 years of age, Mike Penders has travelled to the US with the rest of the Chelsea squad.
If the Belgian gets a game at the Club World Cup and convinces Maresca, perhaps he will get a shot at being No.1 in the 2025/26 campaign.
