Pennsylvania Hockey Player Ian Cleary Extradited to US Over Assault Charges
Gettysburg: So, Ian Cleary, a 31-year-old from Saratoga, California, is finally being extradited to the US. He’s facing some serious charges for allegedly assaulting a college student back in 2013.He was arrested in France after a long search. The authorities in Pennsylvania had issued a warrant for him in 2021, and it took three years to track him down.

The whole thing started when he allegedly stalked an 18-year-old student at Gettysburg College. He reportedly sneaked into her dorm and assaulted her while she was texting for help.

After the incident, the victim, Shannon Keeler, went through a rape exam and gathered evidence. She spent years pushing for charges to be filed against Cleary.

Things got even creepier when he sent her some disturbing messages on Facebook years later, including one that said, “So I raped you.” That’s when she went back to the authorities in 2021.

Now, after being held in custody in France, he’s on his way back to face the music in the US. It’s been a long road for Keeler, but it looks like justice might finally be served.
