Zara Mei Orlic enjoyed her last princess-themed birthday gathering at the beginning of January. However, on January 23, she passed unexpectedly in the hospital from injuries she had incurred in a car accident.
On New Year’s Day, Zara Mei Orlic, then four years old, had her birthday celebration. When she went skiing for the first time in December, she had an amazing experience and created amazing memories.
Tragically, she lost her life far too soon on January 23 after being engaged in a horrific accident close to her house.
After being injured in an accident, a fourth-year-old girl was taken unconscious to the hospital. She was sadly unable to recover from her wounds despite efforts to save her.
In response to these tragic occurrences, the police have acted. A 40-year-old woman is being held on suspicion of driving recklessly and causing death.
Zara Mei Orlic Accident Linked to Tragic Death
One day after preschool, Zara, a young child from River Valley, was walking home with her sister, who was two years old, and their maid.
A car abruptly turned the corner and struck Zara as they were crossing the street. Before they began to walk, the maid had made sure it was safe for them to cross, her father, Nick Orlic, said to The Straits Times.
Zara had a weak pulse at the scene, and the Singapore Civil Defence Force sent paramedics to treat her right away.
After they hurried her to the hospital, a surgeon informed Zara’s father, Dr. Orlic, that she had little chance of survival.
The physicians labored nonstop, giving Zara CPR for approximately thirty minutes, despite the overwhelming odds.
Zara’s mother, Michelle, a 38-year-old lawyer from Britain, spoke with the police at the scene of the accident and then hurried to the hospital.
The police verified that, on January 23, at approximately 4:55 p.m., there had been an accident involving a car and a pedestrian on Institution Hill heading towards River Valley Road.
Zara, the four-year-old, was sadly unconscious when she was brought to the hospital.
The medical staff did everything they could to save her life, but Zara was unable to recover from her injuries and died.

The family of Zara, headed by her father Dr. Orlic, announced that a private funeral will be held for her on January 28 and 29.
Zara was the daughter of Michelle and Dr. Orlic. Two sisters, ages two and six, were also born to her.
After speaking with the police at the accident scene, Michelle, a 38-year-old British barrister, hurried to the hospital as quickly as she could.
Dr. Orlic said that when Michelle saw Zara for the first time following the accident, she was overcome with emotion.
It was then that Michelle realized how badly Zara had been hurt. However, she has shown incredible bravery. Together, they requested that the surgeon cease CPR and allow Zara to pass away quietly.
Zara wanted her father to be by her side all the time, but she was too little to go skiing. Like his wife, Dr.
Orlic has lived in Singapore permanently since 2012 and treasured the happy times he shared with Zara. She cherished her sisters and enjoyed dancing.
Dr. Orlic reminisced about Zara’s first skiing vacation in 2023 and their amazing Christmas together in his native Croatia. He accompanied her to her skiing lessons and remained by her side during the courses.
He takes comfort in the fact that Zara was content and sang joyfully right before she passed away, despite the terrible catastrophe.
