Chelsea’s transfer plans and potential signings this summer could be set to force out a number of first team players before the new season gets underway.
The Blues brought in Liam Delap before the Club World Cup transfer deadline, however it also became clear which other positions they were keen to address this summer.
Chelsea pushed hard to sign Mike Maignan, however walked away for now after not being able to come to an agreement with AC Milan.
They were keen to bring in the Frenchman to become the new number one, which gives a good indicator of how they feel about Djordje Petrovic after returning from his loan away.
Chelsea have told Petrovic he can leave this summer, despite the Serbian enjoying a stellar spell with BlueCo sister club, Strasbourg.
With interest rife in the goalkeeper, it has been reported that Galatasaray have made an offer to sign him this summer.
Journalist Sami Yen Haber has stated that negotiations are currently ongoing between the two clubs over a potential loan with an option to buy.
He said: “Galatasaray’s first verbal offer for Petrovic is €5 million for a rental fee and a €15 million purchase option. Negotiations are ongoing.”
The Turkish side will be competing in the Champions League next season after winning the Super Lig, however are likely to be without talisman Victor Osimhen.
Petrovic could line up against Chelsea next season
After showing a vastly improved all-round game last season, it was predictable that a number of clubs were going to register interest in signing the goalkeeper, who joined Chelsea for £14m.
Petrovic’s penalty save during a recent international game will only have increased his stock, and there is domestic interest in signing him as well as European clubs.
West Ham, Leeds and Bournemouth want Petrovic, with the latter looking to replace Chelsea’s Kepa Arrizabalaga.
A move to one of those sides would see him feature against the Blues next season, and an instant return to Stamford Bridge.
