Central Coast Mariners midfielder, Brooke Nunn, has added another glittering chapter to her career by helping the side secure the 2024/25 A-League Women championship title.

The Mariners clinched the trophy with a penalty shootout victory over Melbourne Victory after a 1–1 draw in Sunday’s grand final at AAMI Park in Melbourne.

A Champion Again

The title is Nunn’s first in Australia and her third league triumph overall, adding to her impressive résumé that already includes:

Women’s Super League titles in 2011 and 2012

Women’s FA Cup victories in 2012 and 2013

From Hibernian to Gosford: Nunn’s Impressive A-League Campaign

Nunn joined the Mariners in the summer of 2024 after a stint with Hibernian and quickly cemented her place in Emily Husband’s first-team plans.

Playing primarily as a central attacking midfielder, she was lauded for her creativity and tireless work ethic throughout the season.

In the just-concluded A-League Women season, Nunn featured in 27 matches, scored four goals, and contributed three assists, helping lead the Mariners—newly returned to top-flight football—to an incredible championship finish.

“I am eager to compete at the highest level this season and assist the team in achieving a better position in the league standings than last year,” Nunn had said at the start of the season.

She delivered on that ambition in style.

Nunn is eligible to play for Nigeria’s Super Falcons through her mother, who is of Nigerian and German heritage.

Her maternal grandfather, Jackson Asiboje, was a respected shipping director based in Apapa, Lagos, further deepening her Nigerian ties.

With her consistent form, international experience, and growing influence in Australia, Nunn has now emerged as a potential asset for the Super Falcons, Nigeria’s most decorated national football team.

Sources close to the player suggest she is enthusiastic about donning the green and white jersey, and would welcome an invitation from Nigeria’s football federation as the team builds toward AFCON 2026 and the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
