Chelsea youngster Estevao Willian put in another spectacular performance for Palmeiras this week to underline his status as a rising star.

The anticipation within the fanbase is huge for Estevao Willian to arrive at Chelsea this summer.

It was confirmed a year ago that the 18-year-old Brazilian attacker will move to Stamford Bridge in the 2025 summer transfer window, and he will be on his way after playing for Palmeiras at the Club World Cup tournament.

On Thursday, Palmeiras beat Ceara 3-0 at home in the Copa do Brasil. Palmeiras fans gave Estevao Willian a standing ovation after another wonderful individual performance.

The future Chelsea star scored the first of his two goals with a simple rebound after his penalty kick was saved. Almost immediately afterwards, he doubled his tally with a brilliant individual goal, firing high into the net after a positive surge up the pitch.

Estevao Willian described as the ‘future of Brazil’

Vitor Castanheira, the Palmeiras assistant manager, was full of praise for wonderkid Estevao after his two-goal performance in midweek.

When discussing Estevao, Castanheira said via Globo: “It is a fact that we are going to lose an excellent player, the future of Brazil, but we will think about this in due time.

“Deciding the game isn’t just about scoring a goal, you have to look at the whole thing.

“A player of his age, with the level of performance he has, that’s why someone from Europe came to get a 17-year-old boy who is brutal. In the classics he may not have scored any goals, but the imbalance and the way he plays are there for everyone to see. Whether he scores a goal or not are details within the game.”

At the age of 18, Estevao does already have four senior international caps for Brazil under his belt.

The teenage forward, who can play anywhere across the frontline, will arrive at Chelsea with so much experience already. In particular, the left-footed trickster has been a Palmeiras star for quite some time now.

Estevao Willian’s first-team record at Palmeiras

Andrey Santos called Estevao Willian “world-class”, and we can’t wait to see what the Brazilian youngsters can do when they are in the same Chelsea team next season.

On NXGN’s list of the top 50 teenage prospects in football, Estevao Willian ranks second behind Lamine Yamal, which highlights the type of talent that is about to arrive in West London.

Mauricio Pochettino played a role in Estevao Willian deal

It was 11 months ago that Chelsea confirmed the future transfer of Estevao, so a lot has changed at the football club since then.

Former Blues head coach Mauricio Pochettino spoke with Estevao Willian during the transfer negotiations before the youngster agreed his move to Stamford Bridge. However, he’s no longer in the dugout and is in charge of the United States national side.

Enzo Maresca is about to reach the end of his first year in charge as the Chelsea boss.

When it comes to Estevao, we hope that Maresca already has plans in the back of his mind for how to integrate the potential superstar. Based on his style of play, we could see the South American talent playing on the wings next season.
