There could be a real shake up in Chelsea’s defence this summer as the club prepare to make room for the arrival of a new centre-half.

As things stand, that central defender is likely to be Bournemouth’s Dean Huijsen. It is thought that Chelsea are currently leading the race for the 20-year-old.

However, it has also been claimed that Chelsea could sign both Huijsen and Marc Guehi of Crystal Palace ahead of the 2025/26 season.

Whether the Blues bring in both men or just one of the two, it looks like Wesley Fofana and one of his current teammates could be set to depart west London.

Chelsea could sell Benoit Badiashile to Inter Milan

Benoit Badiashile’s journey to Chelsea has not been easy, but the 24-year-old will be proud that he has managed to make it to one of Europe’s top clubs. His time at Stamford Bridge, though, may be coming to an end.

Amid interest in Huijsen, according to Inter Live, Inter Milan could sign Badiashile from Chelsea in the summer.

It could be a great move for the Frenchman, who has struggled for game time under Enzo Maresca this season.

In total, Badiashile has managed to make just three starts in the Premier League, though injuries have not helped his cause. His Chelsea career as a whole has been impacted by injuries.

2024/25 17 4 0
2023/24 22 1 0
2022/23 11 2 0
Total 50 7 0

As for Fofana, he has also had a lot of injury problems at Chelsea, and his latest one may have been the final straw.

A report from Foot Mercato now claims that the Blues are open to parting ways with the former Leicester City man.

Before signing Fofana, Chelsea did look at Harry Maguire, who has a much better injury record.

How Benoit Badiashile feels at Chelsea

To Badiashile’s credit, when the ex-AS Monaco man has been overlooked when fit, he has not complained about it.

In fact, it is thought that Badiashile is still happy at Chelsea despite his lack of starts. That may change once Huijsen or another centre-back target comes through the door.

But for now, Badiashile appears to be content with life at Stamford Bridge and is not pushing for a summer transfer.
