It could be bad news for Robert Sanchez and Filip Jorgensen ahead of next season as Chelsea eye up the signing of a new goalkeeper.
The Blues are being linked with a move to sign Mike Maignan from AC Milan, with them looking to address the lack of top-level experience in their side ahead of a season with Champions League football.
Maignan has said yes to a move to Chelsea, and talks are underway regarding a potential move for a fee of around £25m, far lower than they have paid for other big signings.
Milan are looking for replacements already, making it seem as if they are accepting that the Frenchman could be on the move during this transfer window.

Chelsea fans have a lot to say about potential signing of Mike Maignan
Chelsea fans have taken to social media to praise the potential signing as a real needle mover for the Blues as they look to move into the next stage of their project.
Supporters have also praised Todd Boehly amid the rumours, with some believing this deal would be up there as one of the best that have been made since the new owners came into the club.
One user said: “Maignan is a move of intent. So good to see us being linked to players who can actually upgrade key positions and transfers that actually have football logic behind them. An actual transfer window.”
Another added: “Maignan to Chelsea is just perfect.”
A third claimed: “The amount of times Maignan has saved Milan in games they have no business in winning is quite ridiculous. Very comfortable with the ball in his feet too, he’s definitely one of the best signings this ownership has made.”
Another user stated: “I expect Mike Maignan to have a similar impact at Chelsea as Mendy did, particularly given Mendy’s crucial role in Tuchel’s UCL win. Maignan offers vital calmness in build-up and boasts top-tier on-ball skills that make him a more complete GK than Sánchez.”
Finally, one user said: “Maignan’s signing would be the most significant of the entire Boehly era, and would actually be a huge improvement in goalkeeping. I hope it’s around 30-35 million at most. If they’re going to pay 80 million like they did with Kepa, please don’t do it again. That is a totally necessary signing.”

Maignan vs Sanchez vs Petrovic stats 24/25
Despite all three playing for different clubs last season, it looks like the goalkeeper position at Chelsea is up for grabs between three players next season.
Chelsea fans were impressed by Sanchez in the final weeks of the season, however throughout the campaign were calling for Djordje Petrovic to return as a starter after his successful spell at Strasbourg.
The trio actually boast impressive stats, with Maignan coming out on top in a number of areas.
Potential Chelsea goalkeepers 24/25 league stats | Mike Maignan | Robert Sanchez | Djordje Petrovic |
Saves | 99 | 95 | 111 |
Clean Sheets | 12 | 10 | 10 |
Errors leading to goal | 2 | 5 | 0 |
Pass accuracy | 84.7% | 65.3% | 78.8% |
Accurate long balls | 204 | 136 | 168 |
Save percentage | 70.7% | 73.6% | 74.5% |
An area where the transfer target excels is with the ball at his feet. Maignan is significantly better at passing than Sanchez, and this is a crucial part of what Enzo Maresca is looking to do at Stamford Bridge.
