Chelsea’s decision to sign Cole Palmer from Manchester City a couple of years ago has turned out to be a genius piece of transfer business, and they are now lining up another potential raid on the Etihad Stadium.

At the moment, there are plenty of Man City connections when you look at Chelsea.

Blues manager Enzo Maresca coached at the Etihad earlier in his career. Meanwhile, Joe Shields, Chelsea’s co-Director of Recruitment and Talent, previously worked in the Man City academy. In terms of the Chelsea squad, Tosin Adarabioyo and Romeo Lavia played in Man City’s academy as youngsters.

As for Cole Palmer, the attacking midfielder made the direct move from Manchester to West London in the 2023 summer transfer window. He’s been sensational in his first two seasons at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea now target Manchester City winger Jeremy Doku

Journalist Simon Phillips reports via Substack that Chelsea are now considering Man City star Jeremy Doku, 23, as an option for the left wing spot this summer.

Apparently, the Blues are holding internal discussions about the Belgium international as they hold interest in signing him. However, nothing has advanced on this yet, and he’s one of the options for Stamford Bridge officials.

It’s been reported that Chelsea want a right-footed winger this summer as one of their major signings. In addition, they are chasing a new goalkeeper, a new left-sided defender and a new centre-forward.

Doku’s name has now cropped up in the transfer speculation for the first time this summer, and he ticks a lot of boxes as an option.

The Man City left-winger has rapid pace and is a brilliant dribbler, plus he plays with a directness that supporters love. If there’s one criticism of his game, the youngster is still searching for a better end product.

Chelsea eyed Jeremy Doku in 2023

Even though Chelsea’s interest in Doku is fresh, it’s not the first time they have been linked with him.

It was previously reported that Chelsea considered signing Jeremy Doku in the 2023 summer window. Instead, the Blues recruited Palmer and Doku moved from Rennes to Man City.

If Chelsea decide to ramp up transfer interest in Doku in 2025, we think he could be a very popular transfer target.

Jeremy Doku admitted he enjoys watching Eden Hazard, and it shows when you see how he dribbles.

The Man City talent is still a rising star and some way from the finished article, which is why transfer links to Chelsea do seem pretty realistic.
