Chelsea do not look as if they are in for a quiet summer when it comes to signings as they prepare for life back in the Champions League.
The Blues have agreed personal terms with Liam Delap after activating his release clause, with him set to be the first big-name addition of the summer.
Numerous other positions are being targeted by Todd Boehly and co this window, with a left-winger one of the top priorities.
A number of names have been linked with the move after an underwhelming goalscoring campaign from the majority of their wide options. Chelsea are considering sending Jadon Sancho back to Manchester United despite his Conference League final goal.
Chelsea’s three-man shortlist for new left-winger
In exchange, they could look to bring in Alejandro Garnacho, with Enzo Maresca interested in signing Garnacho back in January.
However, journalist Ben Jacobs has claimed the Argentine is only part of a three-man shortlist to come into the club, with Nico Williams and Jamie Gittens also being targeted.
He said: “Chelsea’s next priority after Liam Delap is a right-footed left winger. Alejandro Garnacho, Nico Williams and Jamie Gittens are three names under consideration. The desire to add another winger is more with Mykhailo Mudryk’s absence in mind. Process likely to take time regardless of the outcome.”
Chelsea have contacted Williams’ camp regarding a potential transfer, with them now able to offer the top level of European football to any targets.
Garnacho vs Williams vs Gittens 24/25 stats
The Blues will really be looking for a goalscorer in the current transfer window from a new winger, and the three named targets have very little between them in these numbers.
Chelsea winger target’s stats 24/25 | Alejandro Garnacho | Nico Williams | Jamie Gittens |
Games | 58 | 45 | 48 |
Goals | 11 | 11 | 12 |
Assists | 10 | 7 | 5 |
Garnacho combines for the highest number of goals and assists, and could well be the easiest option to sign due to Ruben Amorim’s desire to rebuild United without him.
It has been reported that Garnacho wants to join Chelsea, however the Blues will also need to look at business they have already completed as to whether they will need to further add to their ranks.
Estevao Willian and Kendry Paez have already been secured ahead of this summer, and both attackers are already expected to be part of the first team next season.
