Chelsea supporters will be looking for more investment from their owners this summer as they look to close the gap between them and the league leaders.
Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali have invested way more than a billion pounds into the club since taking over, however it has become clear that more is needed in order to reach where the levels they want to achieve.
The main position they are looking to strengthen is striker, however will be well aware that they are facing serious competition for a number of those players.
The Blues are keen on Liam Delap, however face serious competition from Manchester United who may be able to offer him guaranteed Champions League football if they win the Europa League final.
This could well prove to be the story with a number of candidates. The likes of Benjamin Sesko, Viktor Gyokeres and Victor Osimhen are all admired by a number of top sides.
With the gap to Liverpool being quite clear for a number of sides, they will be looking to go big this summer. Boehly has heard that a number of Premier League clubs are going to invest big this summer.
He said to Bloomberg: “I think there’s going to be a lot of investment in this [transfer] window, just what I’m hearing, and what we’re feeling. There’s going to be a lot of well-heeled clubs that are going to be looking to add to their teams. And I think that’s only good for the Premier League.”
The Blues have constantly been amongst the big spenders over the past few seasons, however will be pushed in that department this summer.
Boehly clears up Chelsea rumours
A lot of reports are coming out of the club regarding the future that are not so positive, however the American has done his best to squash some of those at the source.
Boehly confirmed he would remain as chairman of the club, with his role not set to increase or decrease in the immediate future.
A player who has seen plenty of rumours surrounding his future is Andrey Santos, with the Brazilian yet to make his competitive Chelsea debut.
However, Boehly personally praised Santos, and admitted he was excited to see him action for the Blues when he returns from his loan at Strasbourg.
