Chelsea’s Moises Caicedo has explained that he’s got a fantastic understanding on the football pitch with two teammates in particular.
Moises Caicedo, 23, has been setting the standards for the Blues throughout the entire 2024/25 season.
It was no surprise that Moises Caicedo won Chelsea’s Player of the Year because he’s been operating at such a high level for the last nine months. Yet again, the colossus defensive midfielder was brilliant in last week’s 1-0 win against Manchester United in the Premier League.
Without a doubt, Caicedo deserves to be playing Champions League football with his individual ability.
Hopefully, Enzo Maresca’s side get over the line to seal Champions League qualification on the final day of the Premier League season. If they win away at Nottingham Forest, they will be back in Europe’s elite club competition.
Moises Caicedo shares great understanding with Cole Palmer and Enzo Fernandez
Caicedo has described Chelsea teammates Cole Palmer, 23, and Enzo Fernandez, 24, as “spectacular”, adding that he links up superbly well with both of them on the pitch.
He told Hayters TV: “We know both Cole and Enzo are spectacular players and every day in training, we understand each other better and we already know where each other is located. I think, more than anything, talking is important and I think it’s more about just looking at each other and knowing where the other player will be.”
The partnership of Caicedo and Fernandez in central midfield has definitely improved over time. Between the two of them, there is a great blend of offensive and defensive skills.
Back in December, Enzo Fernandez claimed he loves playing with Moises Caicedo, and he hopes to spend many more years alongside him.
Meanwhile, chief creator Palmer is usually playing in the advanced No.10 position.
Similarly, Cole Palmer said it’s a “dream” playing with Moises Caicedo, claiming he’s been Chelsea’s best player this season.
There may be other areas of Chelsea’s squad that need upgrades to turn them into winners, but they’ve already got an exceptional midfield core with Caicedo, Fernandez and Palmer. Let’s not forget Romeo Lavia, too.
Chelsea’s highest rated performers in the Premier League
It might not surprise Blues fans to see who ranks as the team’s best performers so far in the Premier League.
Here is a look at Chelsea’s best players according to FotMob ratings.
Rank | Player | Rating |
1st | Cole Palmer | 7.66 |
2nd | Moises Caicedo | 7.42 |
3rd | Enzo Fernandez | 7.32 |
4th | Noni Madueke | 7.17 |
5th | Robert Sanchez | 7.10 |
Hopefully, Chelsea’s key players have one last big performance in them on Sunday for the league showdown against Forest. If the best individuals turn up, we’re confident of three points and Champions League qualification.
In terms of clauses in the Chelsea players’ contracts, no Blues star has a clause allowing them to leave if they fail to qualify for the Champions League. However, it feels so essential for everyone at the club to get back in the Champions League.
