Chelsea and Ligue 1 club Strasbourg are both owned by Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali’s BlueCo.

It means that the two Chelsea owners have the final say on matters at the Stade de la Meinau, including transfers.

It makes the Blues doing business with Strasbourg pretty straightforward. Chelsea have already agreed to sign Mamadou Sarr, with the defender unlikely to be the last player they buy from their sister club.

For other outfits in the Premier League, though, trading with Strasbourg could prove to be much trickier.

Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali will decide Habib Diarra’s fate amid Aston Villa interest

Aston Villa, who are competing against Chelsea for a place in next season’s Champions League, are currently interested in Strasbourg’s Habib Diarra.

However, according to The Sun, while Villa are ready to pay Strasbourg £25m for the 21-year-old, Chelsea owners Boehly and Eghbali have to sign off on a deal.

With Villa now being a direct rival to Chelsea for Champions League qualification, Boehly and Eghbali may be reluctant to strengthen Unai Emery’s side by allowing Diarra to join them.

The Sun’s report claims that Everton have also been watching Strasbourg’s games this season, so they could be a more appropriate club to sell to.

Diarra has been a key player for Strasbourg, making 33 appearances in all competitions. He has managed to score four goals and provide five assists across those games.

The Senegal international is not the only Strasbourg player who could move to England this summer, while there is also a possibility of Filip Jorgensen heading in the opposite direction. Strasbourg could bring Jorgensen in to replace Djordje Petrovic.

Chelsea could sign Emanuel Emegha from Strasbourg

While Chelsea do not seem to be interested in Diarra at the moment, they have one of his Strasbourg teammates on their radar.

Chelsea have been in talks with Emanuel Emegha as they look to bring in a new striker. Emegha has scored 14 goals in 27 Ligue 1 appearances this season, but at 22, he would be another centre-forward option at Chelsea lacking experience.
