Chelsea will be playing Champions League football next season after they secured a brilliant 1-0 win over Nottingham Forest at the City Ground.

Levi Colwill scored the only goal early in the second half, before the Blues defended brilliantly for the rest of the contest.

Everyone who started deserves incredible praise for their performances, with many backing Chelsea to miss out on the top five in the final game of the season.

Chelsea player ratings vs Nottingham Forest

Robert Sanchez: 7/10

Didn’t exactly convince with his kicking but was imperious in the air as Forest looked to threaten with crosses.

Robert Sanchez hasn’t always impressed this season, but has stepped up when Chelsea needed him to late in the campaign.

Reece James: 7/10

Reece James has been criticised for his leadership at times since taking the armband at Chelsea, however led from the front as part of a resilient defensive display from the Blues.

Tosin Adarabioyo: 7/10

Made a couple of key interceptions and frequently split the lines with his passing after being given the nod over Trevoh Chalobah.

For a free transfer, Tosin Adarabioyo has enjoyed a strong season as the club’s oldest regular outfield player.

Levi Colwill: 8/10

Levi Colwill was on hand to tap in from close range in the first half what was the biggest game all season for the Blues.

When Chelsea needed a hero, it was one of their academy graduates who stepped up and delivered.

Marc Cucurella: 7/10

Another brilliant performance from one of Chelsea’s best players of the season, as Marc Cucurella will be playing the European football he deserves next season.

Moises Caicedo: 7/10

As has been the case for the entire season, Moises Caicedo was dominant in the midfield battle again. The Ecuadorian showed why he was Chelsea’s player of the season.

Enzo Fernandez: 6/10

Enzo Fernandez wasn’t always able to get involved in the attack but was tireless in the middle of the park. Another top display.

Noni Madueke: 5/10

Struggled to get into the game in the first half back on the right wing, and was unable to mark another call up to the England team with a goal or assist.

Cole Palmer: 6/10

Cole Palmer was forced to come deep in order to get himself on the ball, and was frequently the out ball when the Blues were under the cosh after scoring.

Not his best game, but his season has been big in Chelsea achieving their goals for the campaign.

Jadon Sancho: 4/10

Was pretty much a non-factor in the time he was on the pitch, before being replaced for Romeo Lavia soon after the Blues took the lead.

Jadon Sancho’s Chelsea future is currently unclear, and if the board were judging on his performance today, he would be back at Old Trafford next season.

Pedro Neto: 6/10

Struggled up against the physical Forest centre-backs after being asked to play down the middle, however Pedro Neto provided the assist for Colwill’s goal.

Worked hard as always with his defensive work, and was crucial in them holding on to the result.

Romeo Lavia: 6/10

Came on to bring fresh legs into the midfield and did his job perfectly as the Blues managed the game well in the final stages.

Chelsea will be hoping that Romeo Lavia will enjoy an injury-free season in 2025/26, with his quality clear to see when available.
