Chelsea may have the perfect target as they look to bring in a new centre-forward this summer.

Nicolas Jackson has shown that he cannot be relied on for a whole season, with the 23-year-old currently on an eight-game goal drought, while Christopher Nkunku could leave Chelsea at the end of the season.

Chelsea could offload Nkunku in the next transfer window after January interest from Bayern Munich and Manchester United, and the Frenchman is not a recognised centre-forward anyway.

All of the above means that the Blues could sign a new No.9 soon, and one name that they have been linked with has a lot of potential.

Benjamin Sesko scores 100th goal for club and country

Chelsea are in contention to sign Benjamin Sesko in the summer, though the Blues face competition from Arsenal.

Whatever the case, the Slovenian has continued to prove himself this season, scoring 15 goals for RB Leipzig.

He netted in Leipzig’s 2-0 win against FC St. Pauli on Sunday, and that goal was a very significant one. It was Sesko‘s 100th for club and country in his professional career.

With the Slovenia international still being just 21 years of age, it is a really impressive feat.

Yussuf Poulsen hails Benjamin Sesko as the complete striker

One person who will not want to see Sesko leave Leipzig is his teammate Yussuf Poulsen.

Poulsen recently spoke about the former Red Bull Salzburg forward, claiming that he has “everything”.

In an interview with TNT Sports (via Daily Mail), Poulsen said: “If you look at his abilities, he has everything a top number 9 needs. He’s still young, he still needs to learn, not the technical things about being a striker but maybe more the finesse side. He has everything, strength shooting, technique, everything.”

With Sesko only at the beginning of his career, you would expect him to get much better over the next few years, which is a scary thought.

He is definitely one centre-forward Chelsea should be considering going into the summer transfer window. Chelsea remain keen on Liam Delap, so that is another No.9 who could end up at Stamford Bridge ahead of the 2025/26 season.
