Robert Sanchez is currently the first-choice goalkeeper at Chelsea, but he may not be for much longer.

Djordje Petrovic will be eyeing his spot if he returns to Chelsea. The 25-year-old has spent this season on loan at Strasbourg and has been excellent for Liam Rosenior’s side.

Petrovic claimed the Player of the Season award at Strasbourg, showing just how good he has been in France.

Chelsea have also been linked with more than one keeper, so Sanchez‘s position really could be under threat next term.

Chelsea considering bid for Gabriel Brazao

One shot-stopper who is said to be attracting interest from Chelsea is Santos’ Gabriel Brazao.

According to UOL, Chelsea have made enquiries about the Brazilian in recent days and are now thinking about making a “formal offer” for him.

Brazao is not the only goalkeeper the Blues are thought to have on their radar, though. Chelsea are also believed to be tracking AC Milan’s Mike Maignan.

Last month, it was reported that Chelsea have enquired about signing Maignan, whose contract expires next year.

With his deal running down, Milan may have to accept an offer from Chelsea if one arrives in the summer transfer window.

For now, Sanchez remains the team’s No.1, though Enzo Maresca plans to start Filip Jorgensen in the Conference League final next week.

How Gabriel Brazao and Robert Sanchez’s save percentages compare

Brazao barely played during his time in Europe, while his save percentage is not as good as Sanchez’s.

Ultimately, the former Inter Milan man is unlikely to be an upgrade on the 27-year-old, whose save percentage is actually the best in the Premier League.

Player Save percentage
Gabriel Brazao 69.4%
Robert Sanchez 76%

In Sanchez’s defence, that has not been his problem at Chelsea. Rather, it has been making mistakes that have led to the opposition getting a shot on goal.

If those errors were not in his game, there would not be any talk about Brazao or any other goalkeeper.
