A new name has appeared near the top of the list as far as Chelsea are concerned when it comes to a potential new striker joining the club this summer.
Randal Kolo Muani has emerged as a potential option for the Blues, who may not be too pleased with what they have just seen from one of their strikers during the Club World Cup.
Nicolas Jackson was sent off moments after coming on against Flamengo, costing his teammates the chance at a fightback in their eventual 3-1 defeat.
It has been claimed that Chelsea entered talks over Kolo Muani after this game, however have not made an offer of any sort at this time.
Chelsea were previously offered Randal Kolo Muani in exchange for Christopher Nkunku
While these are the first links to the France international of the summer, it is not the first time his name has come up in conversation as a potential Chelsea target.
According to The Sun in December 2024, the Blues were offered the chance to sign the striker by PSG, with them looking to sign Christopher Nkunku in exchange.
At the time, the former RB Leipzig man was forced to pick up most of his appearances in cup competitions, with that becoming a regular feature of the campaign under Enzo Maresca.
After he failed to take his chance in the side when Jackson and Marc Guiu were injured, Chelsea would no doubt love the opportunity to swap the two French forwards if they were given the chance again.
Christopher Nkunku’s Chelsea status
Chelsea fans have not been won over by Nkunku in the two seasons he has been part of the squad, with injuries not helping his case.
John Obi Mikel has told Chelsea to sell Nkunku, and they are looking to achieve this during the summer transfer window.
Bayern Munich are keen on Nkunku, after registering interest in the signing back in January. He was kept at the club as Joao Felix left on loan instead.
The Blues will be pushing to find a new permanent home for the forward this summer, however it doesn’t feel as if PSG will remain a potential option.
