The wait is nearly over for Estevao Willian to officially become a Chelsea player following his agreed move nearly a year ago.

The Brazilian is set to instantly be integrated into Enzo Maresca’s first team squad amid the conclusion of the Club World Cup. He will feature for Palmeiras whilst Chelsea look to add another trophy to their recent haul.

There is no appetite to loan the attacker out, whereas fellow promising youngster Kendry Paez is set to move to Strasbourg for a season.

Therefore, Estevao is going to need to adjust quickly to the demands of playing top-level European football for one of the best clubs in the world.

Former Blues star Willian has warned that Estevao will need to put in extra work when he arrives, and it looks as if he has already approached one current player to ask for advice.

Estevao Willian is already talking to Moises Caicedo about Chelsea move

When talking to ESPN, Estevao claimed that he had already been in conversation with Moises Caicedo over what to expect when he gets what he describes as a ‘dream’ move.

He said: “I’ve always dreamed of playing in Europe alongside the best. Playing in important competitions, such as the Champions League and the Premier League. It’s a dream come true. It will be very important for my life.

“It’s a dream of mine and my family’s. It will be an incredible opportunity to play for one of the biggest clubs in the world. And I hope to get there and adapt as quickly as possible. I want to play. It’s the thing I love doing most, what I enjoy most.”

“Madness. It will be my first time. And I’m going to stay. A film plays in my head, from where I came from to where I’m going.

“Of course, I know I will have difficulties, but I will be with my family, who are the pillar of my life. It will be an important step for me and my family. I hope it will be the best possible way. London, Chelsea … it couldn’t be better.”

Can Estevao play for Chelsea at the Club World Cup?

As part of the agreement with Palmeiras, Estevao will be featuring for the Brazilian side during the group stages of the competition.

Despite the fact he will become a Chelsea player at that stage, FIFA rules state Estevao cannot then carry on with the Blues in the Club World Cup.

The Brazilian has become cup tied by being called up by Palmeiras, and will now have to wait until the Premier League returns in August to be given the chance to make his debut for the club.
