Bayern Munich could look to sign both Christopher Nkunku and one of his Chelsea teammates this summer.
Last month, it was reported that Bayern were locked in talks to sign Nkunku, who failed to tie down a starting spot at Chelsea last season.
In total, the forward made just nine starts in the Premier League under Enzo Maresca. As a result, it looks like he could now be heading for the exit door.
However, Nkunku is not the only Chelsea player who could end up at Bayern during this transfer window.
Bayern Munich make Malo Gusto enquiry
While Bayern have been interested in Levi Colwill in the past, Malo Gusto appears to be the other Chelsea star they are now targeting.
Journalist Simon Phillips has shared on Si Phillips Talks Chelsea that his sources understand that Bayern have sent an enquiry to the Blues about Gusto.
After impressing in his debut season at Stamford Bridge, Gusto did not have the best 2024/25 campaign.
In the Conference League final, the defender really struggled to the point where he had to be taken off at half-time. Reece James tried to encourage Gusto with some words before the game, but they had no impact on his performance.
With James fit again, it is improbable that the Frenchman will be a starter at Chelsea next term.
Chelsea’s stance on Malo Gusto
It is unlikely that Chelsea will stand in Nkunku’s way if Bayern make a good offer for the 27-year-old, and the same may apply to Gusto as well.
According to Phillips, there is a belief that Chelsea are willing to listen to Bayern as the German giants try to sign their full-back.
The good news for Maresca is that he will not need a new right-back. The Chelsea manager already has the promising Josh Acheampong in his squad, who could provide cover for James next season if Gusto does go on to depart.
