Enzo Maresca is likely to make a couple of changes to his Chelsea side for the upcoming Conference League final against Real Betis.

The boss has already confirmed that Filip Jorgensen will start after featuring in nearly every game in the competition so far.

It remains to be seen if Maresca continues to reward players who have put in a lot of the work to get them to the final, with one of those being Jadon Sancho.

The Manchester United loanee has put in some of his better performances for the club in the knockout stage of the competition, with Sancho starring against Legia Warsaw in the quarter-finals.

In recent games, the wide pairing of Noni Madueke and Pedro Neto has been preferred for the Blues. However, our Predicted XI has Sancho back in the side.

Whether Conference League final will be Jadon Sancho’s last game for Chelsea

With there being no clarity over his future at this stage, there is talk over whether the final in Wroclaw could actually be the attacker’s last game for the club, if they exercise the clause to send him back to Old Trafford for a small fee.

Fabrizio Romano has claimed that there is currently a ‘concrete possibility’ that Wednesday’s game is Sancho’s last in a Chelsea shirt.

He said: “Chelsea vs Betis could be the last game for Jadon Sancho. Keep an eye on the situation of Jadon Sancho, because at the moment doesn’t have any sort of guarantee on the situation at Chelsea.

“Chelsea have not communicated anything to Sancho about leaving or staying at the club. Today, Enzo Maresca confirmed in public that no decision had been made.

“Chelsea can send the player back for £5m, and this possibility is still a concrete possibility. After the final, Chelsea will inform the player of the decision, but the possibility to see Jadon Sancho return to Manchester United is a concrete possibility.”

Sancho’s thoughts on staying at Chelsea

It has become public knowledge how bad the player’s relationship with his parent club had become. This had become clear when Sancho made a dig at United following Marcus Rashford’s Aston Villa debut.

Therefore, it is perhaps no surprise that Sancho wants to stay at Chelsea beyond this season.

The winger has made 41 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring four goals and assisting 10 in the process.

Worryingly for him though, Chelsea have been linked with a number of new wingers this summer, including fellow United man Alejandro Garnacho.
