All 32 teams have submitted their squad lists for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.
The tournament kicks off on Sunday, 15th June 2025, with Inter Miami facing Al Ahly.
Five Nigerians are set to participate in the tournament.
Firstly, Zaidu Sanusi, a Nigeria international, has been included in FC Porto’s squad. Zaidu has been a regular for the Super Eagles before his injury.
2024 AFC Champions League holders Al Ain have three Nigerians in their squad:
Halilu Sarki, Joshua Udoh, and Hassan Sani Muhammed.
Sarki was a member of the U20 team that represented Nigeria at the last U20 World Cup.
Udoh is a 17-year-old midfielder who is mainly deployed as an attacking midfielder, while Sani is an 18-year-old goalkeeper who was recently promoted to the senior team.
Onuche Ogbelu, a former Flying Eagles midfielder, has also been named in Esperance’s squad for the FIFA Club World Cup.
This is a big opportunity for the Nigerian players to prove themselves as they rub shoulders with some of the best players in the world.
Nigeria coach Eric Chelle will be keeping a close eye on them as he looks to bring the best talents into the national team setup.
