Manchester United could be at a real disadvantage when they take on Chelsea in the Premier League this Friday.
Chelsea have their own problems going into the game, with Nicolas Jackson unavailable because of suspension.
The striker will miss the Blues’ last two matches of the season after receiving a red card against Newcastle United last weekend.
Some Chelsea fans were not happy with the officiating they saw, as Aston Villa’s Tyrone Mings got away with a similar challenge the day before. However, PGMOL’s chief operating officer Howard Webb has analysed the Jackson incident and believes the correct call was made in the end.
Manchester United, though, could still find themselves in a much worse position than their Premier League rivals.
Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt, Ayden Heaven and Diogo Dalot could all miss Chelsea game
As well as Jackson, Chelsea will also be without Wesley Fofana, but that is only one defender Enzo Maresca will be missing. His United counterpart Ruben Amorim could have to cope without four.
As per BBC Sport, Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt and Ayden Heaven have not been in training, while Diogo Dalot was only able to do an individual session on Wednesday.
Whether they play or not, Chelsea will head into the game as favourites. United are in terrible form right now and find themselves 16th in the Premier League table. Amorim’s side have not even managed to reach the 40-point mark yet.
As for Chelsea, with Jackson suspended, Tyrique George may have to start up front. George is a winger and still just a teenager, but he has led the line a couple of times for the Blues this season.
He even managed to score a very important goal in Chelsea’s 2-1 win against Fulham last month.
Jamie Carragher makes Chelsea vs Manchester United prediction
Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher is confident that Chelsea will beat United. However, he has doubts about the Blues picking up points against Nottingham Forest on the last day of the season.
When Carragher discussed Chelsea following their 2-0 loss to Newcastle, he said: “Chelsea will beat Man United. It’s whether they can beat Nottingham Forest away. There will be a big atmosphere there.
“Maybe even if they can’t get Champions League football, I think Nottingham Forest, last game of the season, the supporters will be desperate to say almost like a big thank you for the season that they’ve had. They’ve got European football, great achievement. I actually think it’ll be Chelsea and Nottingham Forest who miss out and Aston Villa get in.”
