Nicolas Jackson has divided opinion during his first two seasons as a Chelsea player, and he’s now subject to some shock transfer interest from Manchester United.
The responsibility has fallen on Nicolas Jackson, 23, to lead the line as the first-choice striker at Chelsea for two years. Without a doubt, the young attacker could do with a bit more help in the final third.
There has been some stand-out moments for the centre-forward with the Blues, including scoring in the Conference League final win against Real Betis this week. Incidentally, Chelsea’s owners celebrated with Jackson on the pitch immediately after the Conference League success.
Overall, Jackson has had a decent but not spectacular opening two years at Stamford Bridge since joining from Villarreal.

Manchester United express interest in Nicolas Jackson
According to FootballTransfers, Manchester United have expressed an interest in signing Chelsea’s Jackson this summer.
It is explained that Man Utd have identified the 23-year-old Blues striker as an alternative to Napoli’s Victor Osimhen and Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyokeres.
The report explains that Ipswich Town’s Liam Delap was the priority target for Man Utd. However, Delap will undergo a Chelsea medical on Monday ahead of his transfer move to Stamford Bridge.
FootballTransfers adds that even though Man Utd have approached Chelsea for Jackson, the Blues are reluctant to negotiate a sale as things stand.
When you consider that Jackson is still under contract at Chelsea until the summer of 2033, the club are certainly under no kind of pressure to sell him. Even though English striker Delap is joining the club, let’s not forget Jackson has been the main No 9 for the Blues across two seasons.
Frank Leboeuf has question marks over Jackson because he can be very inconsistent in the final third, but there is no doubt regarding his quality and potential moving forward.
From Man Utd’s perspective, we don’t blame them for making a cheeky approach for Jackson. We’re convinced he would improve Ruben Amorim’s struggling team at Old Trafford.
Here is a look at how the Chelsea forward compares to Man Utd’s senior strikers this season:
Player | Appearances (all competitions) | Goals | Assists |
Nicolas Jackson | 34 | 13 | 5 |
Rasmus Hojlund | 52 | 10 | 4 |
Joshua Zirkzee | 49 | 7 | 3 |
Joe Cole values Jackson as vital to Chelsea because of his all-round game. Therefore, we would be absolutely stunned if transfer rumours regarding a potential exit intensify in the upcoming summer window.
