Victor Osimhen has described his record-breaking campaign at Galatasaray as one he will cherish forever after surpassing his personal best goal tally in a single season.

The Nigerian striker netted twice in Galatasaray’s 4–1 win over Sivasspor at the Ali Sami Yen Spor Kompleksi RAMS Park on Saturday, taking his tally to 33 goals in all competitions.

The performance broke his previous record of 31 goals set during the 2022–2023 season with Napoli.

Speaking to Galatasaray’s official website, Osimhen expressed gratitude to everyone who supported him throughout the season, including teammates, staff, and family.

“It was important to break my record in my first season. I am at one of the most important clubs in the world the biggest club in Türkiye,” said the 26-year-old.

“I would like to thank my family and friends, the technical team, and the club staff. They never left me alone. This season is a memory I’ll carry for the rest of my life.”

Beyond his goal-scoring exploits, Osimhen emphasized his commitment to the team’s overall success.

“Apart from goals and assists, I like to help the team. I want to contribute beyond just scoring, help the midfield, support the buildup, and give my best.

“The team comes first for me. When I convert opportunities into goals, it makes me happy. The important thing is not Victor Osimhen, but the team.”

The Super Eagles forward has now contributed 41 goal involvements (33 goals and 8 assists) in 37 matches across all competitions for the Turkish giants.

He also highlighted the importance of his teammates in his success, name-dropping Roland, Mario, Torreira, and Sanchez as key contributors to the team’s chemistry.

Saturday’s win lifted Galatasaray to 83 points eight clear of second-placed Fenerbahçe in the title race.

Although Galatasaray would love to retain Osimhen beyond his loan spell, the chances are slim. With top clubs across Europe showing strong interest, the former Napoli striker is reportedly aiming for a move to one of the continent’s elite sides this summer.
