Chelsea could see an approach made for Enzo Fernandez this summer after an impressive season at Stamford Bridge.

Real Madrid are interested in signing Fernandez, who is starting to develop into a real attacking threat for his current club.

It was the midfielder who opened the scoring in Chelsea‘s 3-1 win against Liverpool over the weekend, grabbing his 20th goal contribution of the campaign.

Enzo Fernandez’s 2024/25 stats Appearances Goals Assists
Premier League 33 6 7
Conference League 5 1 5

Ultimately, it looks like his performances have not gone unnoticed, with Real Madrid now circling.

Real Madrid want Enzo Fernandez to push for move

Real Madrid are set to sign Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold on a free transfer and are unlikely to stop there after a disappointing season.

According to journalist Simon Phillips, the Spanish giants want Fernandez to push for a move to the Santiago Bernabeu as they also try to bring him in.

Discussing Real Madrid’s interest in the 24-year-old on Si Phillips Talks Chelsea, Phillips said: “Real Madrid basically want Fernandez to push for a move away this summer and make it easier for them to sign him, because they really want to bring him in as soon as possible.

“I think they foresee another Thibaut Courtois situation where the player advocates for a move and the club end up having no choice but to sell rather than keep a player not wanting to be here.”

For an exit to happen in the next transfer window, Real Madrid probably will need Fernandez to force a move.

It has already been claimed that Chelsea have zero intention of selling Fernandez, who is one of Enzo Maresca‘s key players.

The Chelsea boss also has Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia in his squad, while Andrey Santos is set to return to Stamford Bridge in the summer. But he will not want to lose the Argentine.

How Enzo Fernandez feels at Chelsea

As things stand, Fernandez asking for a move away from Chelsea this summer seems very unlikely.

Last month, the reliable Fabrizio Romano shared that Fernandez’s focus is on Chelsea in a blow to Real Madrid.

He also has a contract until 2032, meaning that the Blues are under no pressure to sell this year. It is easy to see why Real Madrid would want the Argentina international, but it does not look like he is going anywhere for the time being.
