There were some fantastic individual performances for Chelsea as they picked up a vital three points against Premier League champions Liverpool.

Chelsea produced a great display to win 3-1 at home to Liverpool in Sunday’s fixture at Stamford Bridge. It’s definitely a result that boosts their top-five hopes in search of Champions League qualification.

Enzo Fernandez put the Blues 1-0 ahead early on before Jarell Quansah’s own goal doubled the hosts’ advantage. Even though Virgil van Dijk’s header pulled a goal back for the away team, Cole Palmer’s stoppage time spot-kick secured the win.

Chelsea’s player ratings versus Liverpool included a lot of high scores because Enzo Maresca’s side throughly deserved the league win, which helps them massively going into the crunch time of the season.

Jason Cundy left in awe of Moises Caicedo against Liverpool

Jason Cundy couldn’t quite believe how good Chelsea’s Moises Caicedo was in the win at home to Liverpool.

Like he’s done a few times this season, the 23-year-old operated as a right-back that frequently tucked into central midfield. Yet again, he delivered an immense performance both in and out of possession.

Cundy said via Chelsea’s official app (6:25pm, 4 May): “He has been utterly, utterly outrageous… Ridiculous performance today. Utterly ridiculous. He’s going to win Player of the Year tonight.”

When Chelsea beat Everton last weekend, Peter Crouch was impressed by Moises Caicedo after seeing him play in what he described as a “false two” position.

Wherever the Ecuador international plays this season, he’s so impressive. He remains the only Chelsea player to start every Premier League game for this campaign, too.

It’s quite telling that Theo Walcott compared Moises Caicedo to Claude Makelele in a recent interview, which is the ultimate compliment for a defensive midfielder.
