Chelsea have several players in their squad who have the potential to become superstars one day.
The above includes the likes of Cole Palmer, Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo, though you could argue that they already are.
Romeo Lavia is also showing a lot of potential; the midfielder just needs to stay fit. Jamie Carragher spoke about Lavia and Palmer after Chelsea‘s 3-1 win against Liverpool, highlighting the connection that the two had on the pitch that day.
It was Palmer who scored Chelsea’s third goal, and the 23-year-old has come in for a lot of praise since.

Jermaine Jenas tips Cole Palmer to reach the very top
Palmer has had an inconsistent season, but Jermaine Jenas is still backing the attacking midfielder to become one of the very best footballers in the world one day following his post-match interview.
In it, Palmer admitted that he needed to improve, and Jenas thinks that is a very good sign.
Speaking on talkSPORT, the former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder said: “I just think sometimes with players a lot of the time you see these interviews, you get such a polished kind of load of rubbish don’t you after certain games? And sometimes you just want to know genuinely what’s going on.
“And I think with Cole Palmer, he had that bit of release that made you kind of realise that this kid cares, he wants to improve, he knows as well so he’s accepted that he’s not been as good as he should be, which tells me he’s got everything it takes to go and be one of the best players on the planet at some point during his career because that’s what the key is, realising you haven’t been good enough and he’s been putting things right to get himself back on the right track.”
This term, Palmer has not even been the best player at Chelsea. Moises Caicedo recently won two awards, Chelsea Player of the Season and Players’ Player of the Season, so that title goes to him.
However, Palmer is on the right path. This campaign has still been a productive one for the Englishman despite his dip in form, while last term he was obviously incredible.
In 45 appearances, Palmer scored 25 goals and provided 15 assists, the return of a truly elite attacker.

Cole Palmer’s numbers following Liverpool victory
Palmer is not going to hit those figures again this season, but he is still going to finish the campaign with a good record.
The England international has scored 15 goals in the current campaign, with all 15 coming in the Premier League. He has also notched up eight assists.
Cole Palmer’s 2024/25 stats | Total |
Appearances | 34 |
Goals | 15 |
Assists | 8 |
Big Chances Created | 21 |
Shots | 120 |
Crosses | 134 |

If the above is Palmer having a bad season, then the Stamford Bridge faithful have a lot to look forward to in the future.
