Chelsea winger Noni Madueke has been a key player for Enzo Maresca this season.

In total, Madueke has made 41 appearances and may not be finished there, as Chelsea‘s campaign has not actually concluded yet.

The Blues, of course, travel to the US later this month for the Club World Cup, hoping to add that trophy to their cabinet after winning the Conference League.

Heading into the tournament, though, Madueke’s Chelsea future looks to be in serious danger. In March, it was claimed that at least three Premier League clubs were interested in Madueke.

Chelsea believe Noni Madueke is no longer developing

With Estevao Willian coming in and the potential arrival of another winger, it appears that Chelsea are not going to waste their time with any current attacker they are not convinced with.

According to The Guardian, Chelsea feel that Madueke’s development has stalled and are now open to offers for the 23-year-old as a result.

While Madueke could be departing, Borussia Dortmund’s Jamie Gittens could be set for a move to Stamford Bridge.

Gittens played for Chelsea’s academy when he was younger and is being heavily linked with a return to west London.

The England U21 international is not the only winger on Chelsea’s radar, though. The Blues are also thought to be interested in Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho.

It has been reported that Garnacho wants to join Chelsea, though Gittens linking up with Enzo Maresca‘s side could block a move.

What one former Chelsea player has said about Noni Madueke’s development

While some inside Chelsea may not be too impressed with Madueke right now, people outside of the club have liked what they have seen from the England international at times this season.

For former Blue Jason Cundy, Madueke is starting to develop into a winger who is as tricky as Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka.

When Cundy spoke about Madueke during one match last month, he said: “When you’ve got a winger that can go both ways and threaten, as a full-back now you’re asking questions. He does that; Saka’s one of the best, goes out on the right and comes inside. You need to threaten both [ways]. Noni has been really good, really impressive.”

After some of the bright moments that he has produced this term, Cundy and others would probably be sad to see Madueke go.
