Bright Osayi-Samuel has vowed to speak out at the end of the season amid swirling rumours of a robbery at his home in Turkey and growing uncertainty over his future at Fenerbahçe.
The Nigerian international’s comments come as the Turkish giants endure yet another disappointing season.
Despite a strong campaign in the Super Lig, Fenerbahçe finished second behind fierce rivals Galatasaray for the fourth consecutive year extending their painful 11-year wait for a league title.
Adding to the chaos is the right-back’s contract situation. Osayi-Samuel’s current deal expires next month, and renewal talks with the club have completely broken down.
The 27-year-old is now widely tipped to leave Istanbul, with a return to England looking increasingly likely.
Amid all this, Turkish media reported a burglary at Osayi-Samuel’s residence fueling even more speculation and unrest around the defender’s situation.
While details of the break-in remain sparse, the player himself hinted that there’s more to the uncertainty surrounding his contract and future at the club.
“As always, my name is being tarnished,” Osayi-Samuel told Fanatik, as reported by Oxu. “I will reveal everything when the season is over.”
Since joining Fenerbahçe from Queens Park Rangers in 2021 for €500,000, Osayi-Samuel has made 176 appearances, scoring seven goals and providing numerous assists.
This season alone, he featured 37 times and delivered eight assists, showcasing his value as both a defender and attacking outlet.
Despite his on-pitch contributions, his relationship with the club appears to be nearing its end.
A report from Milliyet stated that Osayi-Samuel has already begun moving personal items back to England, increasing speculation that a Premier League or Championship switch could be on the horizon.
Crystal Palace are reportedly leading the chase for his signature, though other English clubs are monitoring the situation closely.
