Chelsea have a plan to beat Newcastle United in the race for Joao Pedro’s signature this summer.

Chelsea and Newcastle are both interested in Pedro, who could leave Brighton & Hove Albion before the start of the new Premier League season.

Last week, it was claimed that Chelsea are readying an offer for Pedro as they look to add to their forward options.

The Blues have already signed Liam Delap from Ipswich Town but seem to want another striker.

Chelsea ready to offer Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall in Joao Pedro deal

To land Pedro during this transfer window, Chelsea look prepared to hand over one of their players to Brighton.

Journalist Simon Phillips has shared on Si Phillips Talks Chelsea that there is a “strong chance” that the Blues offer Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall to their Premier League rivals in a proposed swap deal for Pedro.

Dewsbury-Hall only joined the Conference League winners last summer, arriving from Leicester City in a £30m transfer.

However, the midfielder has been a peripheral figure under Enzo Maresca and may decide to leave Stamford Bridge for more game time.

Following the arrival of Dario Essugo and return of Andrey Santos, midfield may be the strongest area of Chelsea’s squad, if it were not already. Breaking into the first XI next season will be an even more difficult task for Dewsbury-Hall.

Several Premier League clubs interested in Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall

Brighton are not the only possible destination for Dewsbury-Hall. According to Phillips, Chelsea’s London rivals West Ham United and Fulham are also interested in the 26-year-old.

Meanwhile, the Blues have an interest in West Ham’s Mohammed Kudus, and The Chelsea Chronicle has been told that Chelsea have actually offered Dewsbury-Hall to West Ham in a bid to land the Ghana international.

Dewsbury-Hall is not a terrible player, but he is surplus to requirements at Chelsea. If the club can use him to bring down Kudus or Pedro’s transfer fee, then they should.

All in all, every party could win if some sort of swap deal involving Dewsbury-Hall takes place.
