Paul Onuachu is close to sealing a return to Trabzonspor, with the deal reportedly in its final stages.
Southampton, it was gathered, are demanding a significant upfront payment before granting permission for the move to go ahead, per Buchi Laba.
Onuachu has already agreed personal terms with Trabzonspor.
The forward, who was top scorer for Southampton last season, is currently in Nigeria on holiday, awaiting the green light to travel for his medical.
Paul Onuachu has just one year remaining on his contract, and Southampton is under pressure to avoid losing him for free.
