Robert Sanchez has lauded two of his teammates ahead of Chelsea’s final top-flight game of the season against Nottingham Forest.

It is a match that will define Chelsea‘s Premier League campaign, with a win being enough to take them into the Champions League next term.

Chelsea have a gameplan to beat Forest, something that Levi Colwill recently discussed, but it will be a tough game for Enzo Maresca‘s men.

For Sanchez, though, they at least head into it with two of the best players in the world.

Robert Sanchez praises Marc Cucurella and Moises Caicedo

Marc Cucurella and Moises Caicedo have been two of Chelsea’s top performers this season, and that has not gone unnoticed.

After some of the performances that they have put in under Maresca, Sanchez thinks they are now two of the best players in their positions. When it comes to Caicedo, the goalkeeper actually thinks he is No.1.

Firstly, on Cucurella, Sanchez told Chelsea’s official website: “When we need someone, he’s always there — to defend, to attack, to score. He’s — if not the best — one of the best left-backs on the planet right now. He’s unbelievable.

“If I have a little doubt myself I always look at him, for what he’s done, and know that you always can come out on top and do better”

On Caicedo, he said: “I think we’re all coming to our best levels and Moi obviously is the best defensive midfielder on the planet right now. He’s been unbelievable this year.

“Moi went through a little period where he was having to adjust, but the guy’s unbelievable. There’s nothing to worry about with him, he’s showed that this season.”

If Sanchez remains as No.1 at Chelsea next season, the 27-year-old will be hoping that he can be as consistent as Cucurella and Caicedo.

In the current campaign, Sanchez has had some good games, but he has also made a lot of mistakes. As a result, his future as Chelsea’s first-choice goalkeeper has come into doubt.

There is now talk about Chelsea potentially signing Gabriel Brazao from Santos, while other shot-stoppers have also been linked to Stamford Bridge.

Marc Cucurella and Moises Caicedo nominated for Team of the Season

Sanchez is not the only person who has recognised Cucurella and Caicedo’s excellent performances this term.

Others have clearly taken note as well, as Cucurella and Caicedo have both made the shortlist for the Premier League Fan Team of the Season.

Cole Palmer has been included, too, though the attacking midfielder has not been as consistent after a dip in form during the second half of this campaign.

Maresca now needs huge performances from all three players, as well as from Sanchez, when Chelsea take on Forest.
