Alejandro Garnacho has been linked to Chelsea and Napoli, with the winger’s Manchester United career all but over.
Garnacho was not happy to be left out of United’s starting XI for the Europa League final against Tottenham Hotspur, while it has been widely reported that the 20-year-old has been told to find a new club.
Following January interest, The Chelsea Chronicle has been told that Chelsea still like Garnacho.
As for the Argentina international, his thoughts on the Blues are starting to become clearer.
Alejandro Garnacho informs Enzo Maresca he wants Chelsea move
As things stand, then, it looks like Garnacho will definitely be leaving United this summer, and Stamford Bridge appears to be his most likely destination at the moment.
According to The Sun, Garnacho has instructed his agent to let Enzo Maresca know that he wants to join his side.
Maresca could find himself in a position where he really needs a new winger, so the above is a positive development for the 45-year-old.
There is no guarantee that Jadon Sancho is going to remain at Chelsea, while Mykhailo Mudryk is still suspended.
Real Betis defender Marc Bartra was really impressed with Sancho when he came on in the Conference League final, but that performance may still not be enough to convince Chelsea to sign Sancho from United permanently.
The England international could return to Old Trafford, while Garnacho moves in the opposite direction.
Alejandro Garnacho’s stats for 2024/25 season
In a disastrous campaign for United, Garnacho was easily one of the Red Devils’ best players, and the stats show it.
It is quite surprising that they are trying to sell him, though PSR is likely to be one factor.
In 58 appearances, Garnacho has scored 11 goals and provided 10 assists. It is a very good return for a 20-year-old attacker playing in an underperforming team.
Alejandro Garnacho’s 2024/25 stats | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
Premier League | 36 | 6 | 2 |
Europa League | 15 | 1 | 4 |
FA Cup | 3 | 0 | 1 |
Carabao Cup | 3 | 3 | 3 |
Community Shield | 1 | 1 | 0 |

United’s loss could be Chelsea’s gain this summer. Garnacho can be a threat for Maresca’s side and has so much time to get even better.
