Cole Palmer and Noni Madueke both started in Chelsea’s 3-1 win against Liverpool on Sunday.

Palmer managed to get his name on the scoresheet, while Madueke was a threat on the left flank before switching to the right.

Ultimately, Enzo Maresca would have been happy with both of their performances. In fact, Maresca would have been pleased with the team’s performance as a whole. Chelsea were excellent against Liverpool and deserved their three points.

As for Palmer and Madueke, they were undoubtedly satisfied with their displays on the afternoon.

Cole Palmer and Noni Madueke watch highlights on big screen

Manchester United legend Gary Neville spoke about Palmer a lot while commentating on the game, stating that it was a joy to watch him.

And after the full-time whistle, Palmer got to watch himself. Alongside Madueke, the pair watched some of their highlights being shown on the big screen at Stamford Bridge.

You suspect that had Chelsea lost or even drawn the match, Palmer and Madueke would have been straight down the tunnel.

Thankfully, though, this Premier League encounter ended in victory, with the Blues really needing those three points.

Unlike Liverpool, who have nothing to play for, Chelsea’s season is not over. They are still chasing a top-five finish, making their latest win a very important one.

Next up, Chelsea take on Djurgarden in the Conference League as they try to win that.

Noni Madueke hailed as ‘one of the best wingers in the Premier League’

Chelsea have already beaten Djurgarden this season, defeating the Swedish club 4-1 in the first leg of their Conference League semi-final tie.

Madueke scored on the night and was praised by one of the opposition’s players, who thinks that the 23-year-old is one of the Premier League’s top wide men.

When Keita Kosugi spoke about Madueke after the game, he said: “I couldn’t do anything to Madueke. He was so good. I tried to stop him but he created a lot anyway. He’s one of the best wingers in the Premier League, so it’s difficult to face him. But if I want to get there (to that level) I have to develop a lot.”

In terms of beating defenders one-v-one, Madueke probably is one of the best wingers in England. But he may need to improve his numbers before others consider him as one of the best overall.
