Real Madrid have signed several players from Chelsea over the years, but Rodrygo is tipped with a potential move in the opposite direction this summer.

Ahead of the summer transfer window, Chelsea are linked with some high-profile individuals.

Real Madrid superstar Rodrygo, 24, may be the biggest name of the lot, though.

Back in March, it was reported that Chelsea hold an interest in signing Rodrygo, who’s still under contract in the Spanish capital until 2028.

The Brazilian winger has yet again been a key player at the Bernabeu this season, scoring 13 goals and providing 10 assists in 50 Madrid games across all competitions. However, the speculation is now intensifying about the South American’s future.

Rodrygo weighing up Real Madrid exit amid Chelsea interest

According to Sport, Rodrygo is ‘seriously considering’ leaving Madrid at the end of the season in the summer window.

Apparently, the 24-year-old attacker feels displaced in the club’s project. Therefore, his entourage are already working on several future options amid interest from both Chelsea and Manchester City. He’s had offers from clubs in the Saudi Pro League, too.

The report explains that Rodrygo is on the market as his representatives get to work, with his preference to remain in Europe.

Sport adds that Madrid wouldn’t object to selling the Brazilian forward for a big offer, but the final decision will come down to incoming manager Xabi Alonso.

It could cost as much as £85m (The Metro) for interested clubs to sign Rodrygo in the summer. If you examine his CV at Madrid, you can make a fair argument for that valuation.

In June 2024, Chelsea contacted Rodrygo, but the move didn’t appeal to him without Champions League football.

If the Blues want to land their top targets in the 2025 summer window, it would be a massive advantage if they can secure Champions League qualification in the final weeks of this season.

Chelsea will inject Brazilian flair into their squad next season

Even if Rodrygo doesn’t end up at Chelsea this summer, Brazilian youngsters Estevao Willian and Andrey Santos are set to join up with the Blues squad ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.

Estevao, who turned 18 in April, will link up with Chelsea after participating in the Club World Cup with Palmeiras. Incidentally, Rodrygo explained he can help Estevao Willian with his experience when they meet up for international duty.

As for Santos, Blues fans are really excited to see the 21-year-old box-to-box midfielder compete for a spot at Stamford Bridge next year after an excellent loan with Strasbourg.

We’d love to see more Brazilians etch their names into Chelsea’s history alongside the likes of Willian, David Luiz, Thiago Silva and Ramires.
